How to split a Framework Manager Project into CQM and DQM query subjects

Troubleshooting

Problem

The environment has been upgraded from Cognos 10.2.1 on Windows to Cognos 11.0.10 on Linux. Due to the operating system change, it is not possible to use JDBC with Oracle 10g 32bit database.

Diagnosing The Problem

The FM model needs to be split into CQM to allow the oracle 32bit datasource to connect, and DQM for the remaining 64-bit jdbc query subjects.

Resolving The Problem

Steps on how to split a Framework Manager Project:

  1. Create a new CQM FM Model
  2. During the import select "IBM Cognos Model"
  3. Select the FM Model you want to split
  4. Select the querySubjects that are associated with CQM connection
  5. Save
  6. Repeat by creating another DQM FM Model and select the DQM querySubjects.
