Content
Tandberg SLR40
1. When defining a device class for Tandberg SLR40 drive, use
- devtype=QIC
- format=<format=<DRIVE | QIC20GB | QIC20GBC >
Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC20GB .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC20GBC .....
QIC20GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR40 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 20GB when using SLRtape40 media.
QIC20GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR40 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 40GB when using SLRtape40 media.
* QIC20GB and QIC20GBC formats should be used with SLRtape40.
2. Approximately 40GB with data compression at 2:1 ratio.
3. Device identification and firmware level used during validation process
- Drive ID : TANDBERG SLR40 --- Firmware : 0388
4. Backward compatibility
- Write - SLR32/24
Read - SLR32/24/5
Tandberg SLR60
1. When defining a device class for Tandberg SLR60 drive, use
- devtype=QIC
- format=<format=<DRIVE | QIC30GB | QIC30GBC >
Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC30GB .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC30GBC .....
QIC30GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR60 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 30GB when using SLRtape60 media.
QIC30GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR60 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 60GB when using SLRtape60 media.
* QIC30GB and QIC30GBC formats should be used with SLRtape60 and SLRtape40.
2. Approximately 60GB with data compression at 2:1 ratio.
3. Device identification and firmware level used during validation process
- Drive ID : TANDBERG SLR60 --- Firmware : 0388
4. Backward compatibility
- Write - SLR50/40
Read - SLR50/40/32/24/5
Tandberg SLR100
1. When defining a device class for Tandberg SLR100 drive, use
- devtype=QIC
- format=<format=<DRIVE | QIC50GB | QIC50GBC >
Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC50GB .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC50GBC .....
QIC50GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR100 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 50GB when using SLRtape100 media.
QIC50GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR100 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 100GB when using SLRtape100 media.
2. Approximately 100GB with data compression at 2:1 ratio.
3. Device identification
- Drive ID : TANDBERG SLR100
4. Backward compatibility
- Read - SLR100, SLR75, SLR60, SLR50, SLR40, SLR32, SLR24, SLR7 Write - SLR100, SLR75, SLR60, SLR50, SLR40
5. Supported media
- SLRtape100
Tandberg SLR140
1. When defining a device class for Tandberg SLR140 drive, use
- devtype=QIC
- format=<format=<DRIVE | QIC70GB | QIC70GBC >
- Example:
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC70GB .....
DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC70GBC .....
QIC70GB - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR140 recording format. This format results in a cartridge capacity of 70GB when using SLRtape140 media.
QIC70GBC - Specifies that TSM writes data that uses the SLR140 recording format with compression. This format results in a cartridge capacity of approximately 140GB when using SLRtape140 media.
2. Approximately 140GB with data compression at 2:1 ratio.
3. Device identification and firmware level
- Drive ID : TANDBERG SLR140
Firmware : 0605
4. Read/Write compatibility
- SLR140 (QIC70GB,QIC70GBC)
SLR100 (QIC50GB,QIC50GBC)
SLR60 (QIC30GB,QIC30GBC)
SLR50 (QIC25GB,QIC25GBC)
SLR40 (QIC20GB,QIC20GBC)
5. Preferred media
- SLRtape140
6. The format parameter in the device class must be set to the valid format for the media. For example, to use SLRtape100 cartridges, set format to QIC50GB, QIC50GBC or DRIVE.
- DEFine DEVclass devclassname DEVType=QIC FORMAT=QIC50GB .....
7. Tandberg SLR140 drive reports serial number.
Library and drive may require different minimum Tivoli Storage Manager levels. Therefore, ensure that both library and drive hardware are supported. See "Supported Devices for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and Windows" or "Supported Devices for Linux" for minimum supported version levels and platforms for these devices.
More information regarding device configuration is available in the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's Guide, which can be found in the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager information center.
