Question

What permissions are needed when closing, reopening, and deleting discussions in IBM Rational DOORS?

Answer

Database managers, project managers, or a custom users with archive and partition data and create groups powers can close, reopen, or delete discussions. You can also close, reopen, or delete a discussion if you are the person who created it, and you are included in the discussions access list for the module.

Procedure

  1. Open the module. If you want to work with an object discussion, select the object.
  2. In the module window, click Discussions -> View Module Discussions or Discussions -> View Object Discussions.
  3. If you want to view all the discussions, select View Closed Discussions. Open discussions have an open discussion icon and closed discussions have a closed discussion icon .
  4. Click the discussion you want to work with.
  5. To close an open discussion, click Close discussion, enter a comment, and click Submit.
  6. To reopen a closed discussion, click Re-open discussion, enter a comment, and click Submit.
  7. You can delete open or closed discussions. To delete the discussion, click Delete discussion, and then click OK in the confirmation message.
