Abstract

IBM ClearQuest 9.1.0.8 has been made generally available and contains fixes to version 9.1.0 including all predecessor fix packs.
Note that ClearQuest 9.1.0 on Windows and Linux is now a fully 64-bit product.

Each patch contains the cumulative fixes of its predecessor. All other patches referenced in this document are obsolete.
 

Prerequisites

IBM Installation Manager 1.10.0 or later fix pack.

Rational ClearQuest Version, 9.1.0, 9.1.0.1, 9.1.0.2, 9.1.0.3, 9.1.0.4, 9.1.0.5, 9.1.0.6, or 9.1.0.7.


Installation Instructions

You must install this update by using the Updates Packages wizard in IBM® Installation Manager. For information on installing updates by using wizard mode, see the help for Installation Manager on IBM Documentation.

You can directly update to ClearQuest 9.1.0.8 unless the existing version is earlier than 9.1.0.5. If the existing version is earlier than 9.1.0.5, then a direct update is not allowed, you will need to follow the instructions in ClearQuest 9.1.0.5 update guide. 

Also, after updating from a version earlier than 9.1.0.5 to version 9.1.0.5 or later, you must delete the .Rational/ClearQuest directory before starting ClearQuest Client and ClearQuest Designer. The directory is located in your home directory on Linus and in your profile directory on Windows. This is needed because the Eclipse runtime version used by the ClearQuest Client and the ClearQuest Designer was updated from version 4.6 to to version 4.23 starting with the 9.1.0.5 release.

Note: Descriptions of resolved defects are included in the ux_readme and windows_readme files in the Download package table. The readme files are also included in each patch bundle; therefore, you need not download the readme separately when downloading the patch.

Critical

This is a maintenance release. This fixpack addresses vulnerabilities in OpenSSL. For more information, review the security bulletins: CVE 2024-28796, CVE 2023-6129, CVE 2023-5678, CVE 2024-0727, CVE 2023-6237 . The release also contains fixes for client-reported and internally found defects.
