How do you configure a SUSE SLE15 system to install and run IBM Rational ClearCase?

Cause

ClearCase requires some system packages that might not be installed on your SLE15 system. These packages must be installed before you install and configure ClearCase.

Answer

Use the system installer or ask your system's administrator to install the required packages for you.

List of required packages for ClearCase 64-bit:

  • libncurses5
  • libMrm4
  • motif
  • insserv-compat
  • kernel-devel

List of required packages for ClearCase 32-bit:

  • libmount1-32bit
  • libncurses5-32bit
  • libMrm4-32bit
  • psmisc
  • motif
  • insserv-compat
  • kernel-devel

Example using the "zypper" package manager

Open a terminal and type the following command line, in a single line:

% sudo zypper install libmount1-32bit libncurses5-32bit libMrm4-32bit psmisc motif insserv-compat kernel-devel
