Abstract

Changes to the DNS hostnames and IP addresses are being made to improve the transfer of data to IBM Support.

Description

Aligning with IBM's commitment to quality, security and high standards, changes to the FTP hostnames and IP addresses are being implemented.  In Fall 2024, detailed changes and recommended actions were announced by the Enhanced Customer Data Repository (ECuRep) team in document Changes to data upload for IBM Support.

Further action is now required before 10 March 2025.

Recommended Action

Effective 10 March 2025, there are three actions that must be taken:
  • Use the Updated hostnames, not static IP addresses, in all processes or applications you use to transfer data to IBM for support. IBM will use the IP address with the fastest response time.
  • Ensure any firewalls in place are updated to allow connectivity.
  • When using the IBM z/OS Problem Documentation Upload Utility (PDUU), apply PTF(s) for APAR OA66961, necessary to accept the new HTTPS hostname.  

Data transferred using any of the Previous hostnames and IP addresses will fail or will not be forwarded to IBM support personnel for analysis.
