Question
What are the steps to perform a rebase of the IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM) Tracked Resource Set (TRS) for Lifecycle Query Engine (LQE) and Link Index Provider (LDX)?
Cause
Through guidance by IBM technical support a rebase of the ETM TRS was recommended.
Answer
Note: The steps are different for when the ETM server can be restarted.
Note: These steps should be followed only if a rebase was recommended by IBM technical support.
1. Access the TRS Console at https://<ETM_server>:<port>/<ETM_context_root>/trsConsole and click rebase after "Rebase completed successfully" is displayed in the TRS Console.
2. Go to ETM Administration > Active Services from https://<ETM_server>:<port>/<ETM_context_root>/qm/admin. Within 1 minute, LQE should request the ETM TRS and TRS base creation should start automatically and should generate the following service in the Active Services interface: com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsV2Service.service or com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsRestService.service
3. Expand the stack trace of com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsV2Service.service or com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsRestService.service and look for "createBase" in the stack trace. This method ensures base creation is in progress.
Note, if the com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsV2Service.service service does not appear after several minutes go back to the TRS Console and click download to download the ETM TRS feed to compress. This step ensures the base creation starts. Go back to Active Services and repeat steps #2 and #3.
4. When the com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsV2Service.service or com.ibm.rqm.oslc.trs.service.TrsRestService.service instance running the createBase method completes, and is no longer listed in Active Services, the rebase is complete.
