Error description
Environment variables AUTH_USERID_PASSWORD (RACF authentication of user IDs and passwords) and CTGDEBUG (additional ctgstart diagnostic information) have been set, and have caused the following messages to be written to the CICS TG job log: BPXP015I HFS PROGRAM /bin/sleep IS NOT MARKED PROGRAM CONTROLLED. BPXP014I ENVIRONMENT MUST BE CONTROLLED FOR SERVER (BPX.SERVER) PROCESSING. Additional search words: msgBPXP015I BPXP015 msgBPXP015I msgBPXP014I BPXP014 msgBPXP014 msgCTG6808E msgCTG6808 CTG6808
Local fix
Do not set CTGDEBUG.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of CICS Transaction Gateway for * * z/OS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ECI requests receive authorization * * failures because HFS program * * /bin/sleep is not program controlled. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the CTGDEBUG environment variable was set, CICS TG issued a sleep command during startup. If environment variable AUTH_USERID_PASSWORD was also set, and the /bin/sleep program was not set as program-controlled, the reported BPXP015I and BPXP014I messages were issued once during EXCI initialization. 1. The Gateway daemon could not perform the expected RACF user ID and password checking. 2. Attempts by the Gateway daemon to send ECI requests to CICS servers over EXCI failed and for each failed request, the following messages were written to STDERR: CTG6808E Authorize userid/password with RACF for User ID = <userID> has return code = -1, errno = 157 errno2 = 0X90C02AF and JESMSGLG: BPXP015I HFS PROGRAM /bin/sleep IS NOT MARKED PROGRAM CONTROLLED. BPXP014I ENVIRONMENT MUST BE CONTROLLED FOR DAEMON (BPX.DAEMON) PROCESSING.
Problem conclusion
CICS TG has been corrected. The sleep command is not issued. Notes : If the Gateway daemon fails to start, attempts to gather diagnostic information might cause messages BPXP015I and BPXP014I to be issued, after the Gateway daemon fails to start. The CTGDEBUG environment variable is not documented and is provided for use when assisted by the CICS TG service organization.
