  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1. Users encounter the following        *
  *                      compiler error when using PIC U         *
  *                      BYTE-LENGTH UTF-8 items on the UNSTRING *
  *                      statement: IGYPG5201-U Internal         *
  *                      compiler error code "UTF8 opnd for      *
  *                      UNSTRING not fixed charlen" occurred.   *
  *                      2. Users encounter incorrect runtime    *
  *                      output on the UNSTRING statement when   *
  *                      using PIC U(n) UTF-8 items.             *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the IBM provided PTF, and recompile.   *

  Various issues have been identified when using UTF-8 items on
  the UNSTRING statement, including: * Terminating RC=16 compiler
  error when using PIC U BYTE-LENGTH UTF-8 items on the UNSTRING
  statement * Incorrect output when UTF-8 sending and delimiter
  items contained multibyte, Unicode data. * Incorrect control
  flow to the ON OVERFLOW/NOT ON OVERFLOW paths * Incorrect COUNT
  result * Incorrect POINTER result
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler (APAR PH62478) and runtime (APAR PH62500 and
  PH62501) have been fixed to address the identified issues.
