QRadar SOAR: Unable to start the k3s.service after App Host installation

Troubleshooting


Problem

After installing the App Host on RHEL 8, the k3s.service fails to start

Cause

The service nm-cloud-setup.service is running which is preventing k3s.service from starting

Environment

RHEL 8
App Host 1.15.x .run file

Diagnosing The Problem

During the install of AppHost the error, POSTIN scriptlet in rpm package k3s can been seen

[user@histname ~]$ sudo systemctl status k3s
● k3s.service - Lightweight Kubernetes
   Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/k3s.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
   Active: inactive (dead)

Attempting to start the k3s.service fails, stating to run journalctl -xe for information

Resolving The Problem

$ sudo systemctl disable nm-cloud-setup.service nm-cloud-setup.timer
$ sudo systemctl restart k3s
