Error description
On UNIX platforms the "ace" utility script has the option "verify install" to check that the checksum of all the installed files match what is expected. This option does not function correctly in ACE v11 or ACE v12. On AIX the following message will be logged Verifying checksums of files in installation, this may take a few minutes ... csum: fopen(): No such file or directory All of the file checksums are as expected whereas on Linux the command will print Verifying checksums of files in installation, this may take a few minutes ... All of the file checksums are as expected In either case the command will finish instantly with a zero return code, without verifying any file integrity.
Local fix
Setting the environment variable "FilePathShortLName" to the value "ace", e.g. "export FilePathShortLName=ace", before running the script will allow the verification to take place correctly.
