Purpose of mapping a Cognos group to a tenant in a multi tenancy environment?

Question & Answer

Question

What is the purpose of mapping a Cognos group to a tenant?

Answer

The purpose of mapping a tenant to a Cognos group is to stop all other tenants from being able to view that group. There is no inheritance involved. For example: if a tenant is created, customised and mapped to a Cognos group, all the members of that Cognos group will not inherit the tenant customisation, as mapping a group to a tenant is simply a way of hiding certain groups from certain tenants.
