Question & Answer
Question
User requirement is to accept the TXML (commerce eXtensible Markup Language) from the external system and use it in IBM Sterling Order Management System (a.k.a. OMS) for further processing. So does OMS API framework support TXML format? Also what is the performance impact?
Cause
Answer
OMS API framework supports only XML format.
Any transformation of input to supported XML format is end user's responsibility before invoking OMS APIs. OMS supports consuming incoming messages in XML format. End user is expected to then transform these messages to a format supported by APIs or services consuming these messages.
Regarding the feasibility and performance, it is end user's responsibility to test whether doing a transformation in Service Definition Framework (a.k.a. SDF) meets the performance requirement, or if there is a need to pre-process the TXML sent by 3rd party in an external system to transform it into XML format supported by OMS APIs and then invoke OMS APIs.
