Error description

  • In the MQ Appliance, if there are multiple Queue Managers
sharing a common suffix in their names and
one of them transitions to an "ended" state, it affects other
    QMgrs with a similar suffix.
Specifically, the HA control is disabled.

    Steps to recreate:
     1) crtmqm -sx AAATEST
     2) crtmqm -sx ATEST
     3) endmqm -w AAATEST
     4) status -l

    The result reported status is:

Local fix

  • Start the queue manager that has the same suffix as the one
    showing HA control as disabled.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
MQ appliance users using High Availability queue managers with
same suffix in the queue manager names

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a queue manager is stopped, a defect in the logic used to
filter the QM names caused the HA control of a different QM with
same suffix as the queue manager that was stopped, to go into
    disabled state.

Problem conclusion

  • MQ code has been modified to resolve the issue that disables the
HA control of the queue manager.
