APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • We can see sporadic  TLS / SSL errors when SNI is configured
with a custom host name that has both upper case  and lower case
characters.

Local fix

  • Work around is to not use any upper case characters in the
custom host name.

Problem summary

  • A custom SNI hostname with uppercase characters might fail to
resume a TLS session.
