IBM Guardium Security - When using a Teradata Database server is it adviced to use the IBM Security function K-TAP

Question & Answer

Question

Can you tell me if it is required to use the IBM Security Guardium functionality K-TAP for a newly installed Teradata database server?

Answer

Please review the below link to check what version of Teradata and the available platforms for your version of IBM Security Guardium:

We only support Teradata on Suse Linux, you have two options either K-TAP or EXIT/A-TAP.  The K-TAP will collect network traffic for unencrypted communication, if you want to collect encrypted traffic then you will need the EXIT/A-TAP.
Please use the above link to select the right platform version and Teradata database version to know what is required for that configuration.  But it is very likely that to collect all data you will need both the K-TAP and Teradata EXIT.
