What has changed in IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS(DOORS) client 9.7.2.8 regarding Java Runtime Environment?

From version 9.7.2.8, DOORS client bundles Java Runtime Environment.

Answer

Download and installation of Java Runtime Environment

1. Separate JRE Download is no longer required

It is bundled in the DOORS client installation executable file.

2. Separate JRE installation is no longer required

JRE installation is part of the DOORS client installation process.

3. Default JRE installation location

C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\Java\jre

The setting storing the location of Java Runtime Environment

1. JAVA_HOME system environment variable is no longer used

Setting JAVA_HOME system environment variable will have no affect on which JRE that the DOORS client will be using.

2. The following registry key stores the location of JRE that the DOORS client is using:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telelogic\DOORS\9.7\Config\JRE path
