  • ABSTRACT:
    ORA-01000 maximum open cursors error When Importing Meter
    Readings
    
    DESCRIPTION:
    In either the Fuel Transactions Import (Tr) application, or
    integration objects to import Transportation asset meter
    readings, the import fails with ORA-01000: maximum open cursors
    exceeded error.
    
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Log in to maxdemo instance
    Create a Fuel Transactions Import Template:
    2. Go To Adminstration | Organizations (Tr)
    3. Open the record for EAGLENA
    4. More Actions | Transportation Options | Fuel Transactions
    Import Setup.
    5. In the Templates section, click the New Row button
    6. In the Name field, enter "ASSETMETER Import"
    7. In the Description field, enter "Fuel Transactions Import"
    8. In the Columns section, click the New Row button
    9. In the Column field | Select Value | click ASSETNUM
    10. In the Sequence field, enter 1
    11. Click the New Row button
    12. Repeat the steps to add columns:
    	METERNAME 2
    	METERREADINGDATE 3
    	READING 4
    13. Click OK
    14. Click the checkbox for "Active?"
    Create 135 Assets via Asset Templates:
    15. Go To Assets | Asset Templates (Tr)
    16. Common Actions | New Asset Template
    17. In the Asset Template field, enter "ZZ-001"
    18. In the Asset Description field, enter "ZZ Asset"
    19. On the Meters tab, click the New Row button
    20. In the Meter field, enter "fuel-l", then tab out
    21. In the Average Calculation Method field | Select Value |
    click ALL
    22. In the Reading Type field | Select Value | click DELTA
    23. Save the record
    24. Common Actions | Change Status
    25. In the New Status field, select Active, then click OK
    26. Common Actions | Generate New Assets
    27. In the Site field, enter "bedford", then tab out
    28. In the Location field, enter "w-mainst", then tab out
    29. In the Status field | Select Value | click OPERATING
    30. In the Quantity field, enter 135
    31. In the Starting Asset # field, enter 1
    32. In the Prefix field, enter "ZZ-"
    33. Click the Generate Assets, the click OK
    34. Click OK at the System Message, "The asset template has been
    applied."
    35. Create or update an existing .csv file with 135 unique rows
    which contains one row for each asset that was generated;
    example rows:
    ZZ-1,FUEL-L,2024-03-01T14:00:00,65
    ZZ-2,FUEL-L,2024-03-01T14:00:00,65
    ZZ-3,FUEL-L,2024-03-01T14:00:00,65
    36. Go To Data Import (Tr) | Fuel Transactions Import (Tr)
    37. More Actions | Import File
    38. In the Template field | Select Value | click ASSETMETER
    IMPORT
    39. Click the checkbox for "Import Meter Readings?"
    40. In the Site for Imported Readings field, select BEDFORD
    41. Click the Select File button
    42. Navigate to the import file that was created, then click OK
    43. Click OK at the System Message, "BMXAL0346I - 135 meter
    reading records have been imported."
    44. More Actions | Imported Meter Readings | Create Meter
    Readings
    45. Click the Create Readings button
    46. Click Close at the System Message which displays a row for
    each reading, ex. "BMXAA2914E - Meter readings have been saved."
    
    
    RESULT:
    Import fails with ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded error

    Process completes without error
