APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Problem Description:
    If a job plan is classified and attributes with section filled
    in are removed from the job plan specifications these attributes
    do not copy to the work order correctly when the job plan is
    applied.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    1.	Open Maximo and navigate to the Classifications application.
    
    2.	Click the New Classification button.
    3.	Enter a value into the Classification and Description fields.
    
    Created Classification: DOTTESTCLASS testing for df
    classification
    
    4.	Save the record.
    5.	Under the Use With table, click New Row.
    6.	For Use With Object enter WORKORDER.
    7.	Repeat steps 5  6 for the object JOBPLAN.
    Use With Object: JOBPLAN
    8.	Save the record.
    9.	Under the Attributes table, click New Row.
    10.	Enter a value for Attribute.
    Attribute: BEARTYPE
    11.	Enter A1 for Section.
    12.	Save the record.
    13.	For the attribute added in step 10, click the Use With
    Object Detail button for the row.
    At the end of the line, click the icon that looks like a piece
    of paper with a check mark on it "Use with Object Detail"
    14.	Verify for both objects WORKORDER and JOBPLAN the Use in
    Specifications checkbox is checked.

    Use In Specification: checked for both WORKORDER and JOBPLAN
    15.	Repeat steps 9  14 twice to add attributes with the
    following setup:
    a.	Use the same attribute as step 10 both times.
    b.	Use a section A2 and A3 for the second and third attributes
    respectively.
    
    Attribute: BEARTYPE
    Section: A2
    Save
    Click Use with Object Detail - both objects WORKORDER and
    JOBPLAN: checked
    Attribute: BEARTYPE
    Section: A3
    Save
    Click Use with Object Detail - both objects WORKORDER and
    JOBPLAN: checked
    
    16.	Repeat steps 9  14 to add a single attribute with the
    following setup:
    a.	Use a different attribute than step 10.
    Attribute: B LAYER
    b.	Leave the section field blank.
    
    Attribute: B LAYER
    Section:
    Save
    Click Use with Object Detail - both objects WORKORDER and
    JOBPLAN: checked
    
    17.	Navigate to the Job Plans
    
    18.	Click the New Job Plan button.
    19.	Enter values into required fields.
    Job Plan: JPTESTDF3
    Template Type: Maintenance
    Duration: 0:30
    
    20.	Click the Specifications tab.
    21.	Click the chevron beside the Classification field.
    22.	Click Classify.
    23.	Select the Classification created in step 3.
    Classification: DOTTESTCLASS
    24.	Delete the attributes that have a section of A1, A2, and A3.
    
    Delete all 3 Attribute: BEARTYPE
    25.	For the attribute from step 16 enter an Alphanumeric or
    Numeric Value as needed.
    Attribute: B LAYER
    Alphanumeric Value: 5214
    26.	Save the record.
    27.	Under Common Actions, click the Change Status button.
    28.	For the New Status select ACTIVE.
    29.	Click OK in the Change Status dialog.
    30.	Navigate to the Work Order Tracking
    
    31.	Click the New Work Order button.
    32.	Enter values into required fields.
    Work Order: 1325DF
    Location: BR240
    Asset: 11240
    33.	For the Job Plan field enter the job plan created from step
    19.
    Job Plan: JPTESTDF3
    34.	Save the record.
    35.	Click the Specifications tab.
    36.	Under the Specifications table, there will be only two
    attributes:
    
    Results:
    a.	The attribute with section A1.
    Attribute: BEARTYPE
    Section: A1
    b.	The attribute that had a blank section.
    Attribute: B LAYER
    Section: blank
    Alphanumeric Value: 5214
    
    Expected Results: All the attributes for the classification
    should be displayed - the 3 BEARTYPE and the B LAYER.

    The classification attributes with same attribute id and
    different section are not carried over to work plan (if they are
    not removed from job-plan even if use in specification check is
    true).
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR will be contained in a future release.
