Question
When a new version of QRadar EDR is released, how long does it take until my environment is upgraded? Do I need to do anything?
Answer
Typically for the "ibm-operator-catalog" Catalog Source, a new version of QRadar EDR will be installed to upgrade your QRadar EDR environment within 45 minutes of the image becoming available.
This assumes that the Operator (IBM Security® QRadar EDR) is set to use the Automatic Update approval method (See the subscription tab of the Operator's details page):
Under "Installed Version", you can see which version the Operator has installed:
This also assumes that the OpenShift environment has a fast stable connection to download the new version. Slower, intermittent or unstable connections will result in a longer time to acquire the new version and thus a longer time until the upgrade is completed.
If you are using the Automatic Update approval method, no action needs to be completed, assuming all relevant pods are working and healthy.
When the upgrade is complete, the Name of the instance will be visible as a tab in the Operator's details page:
