Problem
Collecting Data: This document describes the process for collecting data for kafka issues. Gathering the MustGather information before calling IBM support helps you understand the problem and save time analyzing the data.
Resolving The Problem
Login on Maximo and copy your full System Information to include in the support ticket.

Collect Log
Ensure the following loggers are set before problem replication and log collection:
Collect values for the System Properties
mxe.int.kafkamaxpollintms
mxe.int.kafkapolltimeout
mxe.kafka.txtimeoutms

Collect Log
Ensure the following loggers are set before problem replication and log collection:
1) log4j.logger.maximo.integration=DEBUG
2) log4j.logger.maximo.sql=INFO
3) Go to the Root Logger section and set the Crontask logger to ERROR. Add kafka as a child logger and set to DEBUG log level
4) log4j.logger.maximo.script=DEBUG

3) Go to the Root Logger section and set the Crontask logger to ERROR. Add kafka as a child logger and set to DEBUG log level
4) log4j.logger.maximo.script=DEBUG
Ensure these loggers are active. Select "Apply Settings" action, then reproduce the problem and send in all the logs for review. Revert the log level back to ERROR after collecting the log to avoid performance problem.
Collect values for the System Properties
mxe.int.kafkamaxpollintms
mxe.int.kafkapolltimeout
mxe.kafka.txtimeoutms
For continuous inbound or outbound error processing, you must set up an instance of the KAFKAERROR cron task for that continuous queue. This cron task processes the messages from the maxinterror table in Maximo® Application Suite.
