Planning Analytics Database Not Releasing Memory After Load Testing

Troubleshooting

Problem

When performing a load test on a Planning Analytics Database, memory does not appear to be returned or released as expected

Symptom

  • While monitoring Planning Analytics Database memory usage, resources are not returned
  • Problem occurs in spite of cellsets being deleted, and user sessions closed

Cause

  • Session based objects are kept in memory until all sessions of the same named user are closed
  • If the load tests are being ran as the same user being used to monitor the database, this problem may be observed

Resolving The Problem

  • Ensure that load tests run as a different user than the one used to monitor the environment
