Problem
A problem has been encountered with a Planning Analytics database
Diagnosing The Problem
To troubleshoot a problem with a Planning Analytics database, the following details must be gathered.
- Detailed description of the problem:
- What is not working as expected? (what is the expected result?)
- Is this something that had worked before? (if yes, what might have changed?)
- Is the problem limited to a specific database or database object?
- Are there any error messages?
- Can the problem be replicated on demand?
- Can the problem be simplified? (removal of objects/steps required to recreate the problem)
- Environment Details:
- Where is your application deployed? (URL)
- Please include the AccountId and TenantId with the URL
- Example: https://us-east-1.planninganalytics.saas.ibm.com/?accountId=ABCDE12345&tenantId=ABCDE12345
- What is the Database Name of the database in question?
- Database Name can be found in Planning Analytics Administration
- Where is your application deployed? (URL)
- Configuration Details
- Are there any non-default configuration changes that are worth noting?
- Debug Logging
- If working with the Planning Analytics Database using Planning Analytics Workspace a browser trace should be captured
- Browser Network Trace:
- Connect to Planning Analytics and prepare to recreate the problem
- Prior to problem replication, open the Developer Tab of the web browser
- Browser settings > Tools > Developer Tools
- Ensure Developer Tools has Network Tab displayed
- Just prior to problem replication, click the Clear icon to clear current logs (top left icon, beside red recording icon)
- Recreate the problem you are facing in as few clicks as possible
- Export the network trace via the Developer Tools > Network Tab
