PH57343: OUTOFMEMORYERROR WHEN TRYING TO REMOTELY CONNECT TO A BROKER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When trying to create multiple remote connections with the
  broker using com.ibm.broker.config.proxy.BrokerProxy, the JVM
  heap memory runs out quickly and causes an OutOfMemory error
  creating heap dumps and Java cores.

Local fix

• Increase the -Xmx value in mqsiprofile to increase the maximum
  memory allocation pool.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When attempting to connect to an integration node remotely, the
  user might get an OutOfMemory error resulting in Java heap dumps
  and Java cores being created.
  
  The call stack captured in the error will be similar to:
  "<p>java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space</p><p>at
  java.nio.HeapByteBuffer.<init>(HeapByteBuffer.java:57)</p><p>at
  java.nio.ByteBuffer.allocate(ByteBuffer.java:335)</p><p>at

  org.apache.tomcat.websocket.server.WsFrameServer.<init>(WsFrameS
  erver.java:47)</p>"
  

Problem conclusion

• The product has been modified such that the remote connection to
  integration nodes is established successfully without any
  OufOfMemory error.
