Error description

  • In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, a Microsoft SQL Fail Over Cluster
Instance can stop from being protected after it has failed over
from one SQL server to another in the cluster.
If the instance is offline when an application inventory is
done, the association with the SLA is removed as the instance is
    not detected at that time.
This association is not reinstated after the instance is online
    again.

IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.x

    Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, TS012328546

Local fix

  • Associate again the SLA to the Microsoft SQL instance to
    protect.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that SQL failover cluster
instance and databases are associated with SLA after inventory,
when the SQL failover cluster instance is offline.
