Error description
During the redirected restore, the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus DB2 agent first restores the source database and only after that it relocates it into the target instance/database. That is why the source database in the source instance on the target host is always dropped and recreated during the restore. This behavior needs to be documented in the IBM Documentation for this agent in the section, Restoring DB2 data > Restore to an alternative instance. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.x Additional Keywords: SPPLUS, TS008182333 , Restore, DB2, alternative instance

Problem conclusion
In IBM Documentation the "Restoring Db2 databases to an alternative instance" topic does not provide information about the behavior and failure of the restore job to an alternative instance. So, we have added the following note in the topic to mention about the behavior of the restore job and to avoid the restore job failure: "When you run the restore job by choosing the Overwrite existing database option, the source database in the source instance on the target host is dropped and the source database is recreated during the process. The redirected restore process first restores the source database in the source instance and then relocates it to the target instance and renamed target database. To avoid restore job failure, you can manually clean up the system to delete source database in the source instance on the target host before you run the restore job." This information will be published with the upcoming release for IBM Spectrum Protect plus 8.1.15 in the following topic URLs: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/spp/10.1.15?topic=data-restoring-alt ernative-instance
