Error description

  • User needs to identify and warn users from closing workorders
who have already completed the same workorder.
They have tried to write the logic with an Automation script by
defining the attribute launch point on 'Run action' event at
attribute 'STATUS' in 'WOCHANGESTATUS' object (which gets
invoked during New status selection in the Change Status dialog
    box).

This runs and works good during 'Change Status' select action in
both List and Main tabs. But when we use direct 'Close Work
Order' select action, it works only in Main tab whereas "in List
tab", the script is never invoked.
Can we please understand if this is a known issue and do we have
    a workaround for this.

    PERFORMANCE ISSUE: NO

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Please follow the below steps to reproduce the scenario where
the launch point is not getting called for
    specific actions in List tab:
    Automation script creation:
    1) Go to Automation Scripts application
    2) Select Create -> Script with Attribute Launch Point
    3) Provide some valid name for Launch Point and choose the below
    details:
    Object: WOCHANGESTATUS
    Attribute: STATUS
    Events: Run action
    4) Provide some valid name for Script name and enter the below
for source (to test and know if the
    launch point is called):
    service.error("WOCHANGESTATUS-STATUS-Run
    action",mbo.getString("STATUS"))
    5) Save the script
Behavior in Work Order Tracking application:
Go to Work Order Tracking application
    - Scenario 1:
Open any workorder that is eligible to change it to Closed
    status.
Click on Change Status from select action and select Closed
status in the dialog. We get the message in a
dialog based on our script source.
    - Scenario 2:
Open any workorder that is eligible to change it to Closed
    status.
Click on Close Work Order from select action. We get the message
in a dialog based on our script source.
    - Scenario 3:
In List tab, please filter out a sample of the workorders.
Click on Change Status from select action and select Closed
status in the dialog. We get the message in a
dialog based on our script source.
    - Scenario 4:
In List tab, please filter out a sample of the workorders.
Click on Close Work Order from select action. We do not get any
dialog message here which we get in
    previous scenarios.
As seen from above observations, the script is not launched
during scenario 4. We wanted to understand
if this is a known issue/limitation and if there are any
    workarounds for it.
