Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9       *
  *                 Release 2 Modification 0 and Release 3       *
  *                 Modification 0.                              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A timing window exists for abends in    *
  *                      CSQRUE01 which results in a secondary   *
  *                      S5C6-00E50100 abend in recovery. If an  *
  *                      MQ latch was held at the time of the    *
  *                      initial abend, then the secondary abend *
  *                      will prevent the latch from being       *
  *                      released. In some cases this can lead   *
  *                      to tasks hanging and abnormal QMGR      *
  *                      termination.                            *
  ****************************************************************
  CSQRUE01 is called for END UR processing to disconnect and free
  the unit of recovery element (URE) from the agent. This
  processing requires obtaining MQ latches. If the thread abends
  and CSQRUE01's FRR routine gets control, then this can result in
  a secondary S5C6-00E50100 abend. If the thread held a latch then
  recovery will percolate without releasing the latch.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code in CSQRUE01 has been corrected to prevent the secondary
  S5C6-00E50100 abend.
