PH58298: MUST COMPLETE STATUS NOT DETECTED DURING END OF TASK 23/12/01 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Must complete status isn't always detected during end of task
  (EOT). This can result in hangs in the QMGR. This problem was
  introduced by APAR PH50324, which was repackaged into APAR
  PH55841.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a task connected to the QMGR,      *
  *                      including internal service tasks, goes  *
  *                      through end of task (EOT) processing,   *
  *                      it is possible for the queue manager    *
  *                      to hang as a result of must complete    *
  *                      status not always being correctly       *
  *                      detected.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  The code that handles must complete status checking during end
  of task processing incorrectly detected that the task was not
  in a must complete state. This resulted in the queue manager not
  being terminated as expected.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been changed to correctly determine must complete
  status during end of task. As a result, the queue manager now
  terminates with reason 00F30429 as expected, thus preventing
  queue manager hangs.
