PH59011: ABEND AEXZ OCCURS WHEN CICS RECEIVED INVALID CHUNK FOR WEB CONVERSE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CICS receives an invalid HTTP chunk. When peaking for the chunk
  header in DFHWBCL it receives a buffer of all nulls.
  
  DFHWBCL exits with a invalid_chunk, however when using a
  WEB CONVERSE we do not handle the reason of invalid_chunk in
  DFHEIWB and the transaction abends with code AEXZ:
  
  DFHAC2206 13:40:32 Transaction TRAN failed with abend
  AEXZ. Updates to local recoverable resources backed out.    Â
  

Local fix

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHAC2206 issued with abend AEXZ when   *
  *                      receiving invalid chunk header during   *
  *                      a WEB CONVERSE.                         *

  When issuing a WEB CONVERSE and CICS receives a invalid chunk
  header, CICS exits DFHWBCL with reason invalid_chunk. This
  response is not handled in DFHEIWB so CICS issues a AEXZ abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHEIWB has been updated to handle the invalid_chunk
  exception. A response of RESP=INVREQ RESP2=22 is returned to the
  application.
