APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a wrong user id or a wrong password is entered when signing
    into Maximo, the following error occurs.
    
    "The server has encountered an unknown error. Reload the
    application and try again. If the problem persists, contact your
    system administrator".
    
    STEPS TO RECREATE:
    1) Access the following URL from the browser.
    
    https://<hostname>:<port>/maximo
    
    2) After the welcome screen shows up, specify "maxadmin" for the
    user, and enter an incorrect password. Then, click "Sign In"
    button.
    
    3) The following error occurs:
    
    The server has encountered an unknown error. Reload the
    application and try again. If the problem persists, contact your
    system administrator.
    
    NOTE: the same error also happens when entering an incorrect
    userid or when leaving the userid and password fields blank.
    
    
    
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    The error like below should appear instead of the above error.
    
    BMXAA7901E - You cannot log in at this time. Contact the system
    administrator.
    
    or
    
    BMXAA2238E - Please enter user name and password.
