Summary
IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), is unable to detect Db2 Connect Unlimited Edition for System i swidtag, resulting in audit issues in the ILMT. The reason is that no installation program is executed in the i-series environment where Db2 for i runs, so ILMT can't find any swidtag files there.
Environment
Db2 Connect Unlimited Edition for System i licensed on PVU on Linux, Unix, Windows
Steps
To address the issue, the following steps are necessary to copy the swidtag manually:
- Download the applicable Db2 Connect Unlimited Edition for System i license file from Passport Advantage website.
- There is a license file db2consv_is.lic in downloaded files. Copy the license file to an environment where you have the Db2 LUW or Db2 Client package installed.
- Apply the license file:
$ db2licm -a db2consv_is.lic
- That creates the swidtag file sqllib/properties/version/ibm.com_IBM_DB2_Connect_Unlimited_Edition_for_System_i-11.5.0.swidtag.
That file can be transferred to the i-series environment and placed in the IFS, in a location which is not excluded from ILMT scans.
- Next you can remove the license from client:
$ db2licm -r db2consv
