Automating the distribution of IBM Storage Protect server certificate to all IBM Storage Protect clients

Troubleshooting


Problem

Manually copying or distributing the server certificate to hundreds or thousands of clients, and validating it later can be a difficult task. This process can be automated. This automation is provided in the form of scripts to be executed on the administrative client of the IBM Storage Protect server.

The clients could be the backup-archive client, or any other product components like:

  • IBM Storage Protect for Space Management
  • IBM Storage Protect for Virtual Environments
  • IBM Storage Protect for Mail
  • IBM Storage Protect for Databases
  • IBM Storage Protect Snapshot
  • IBM Storage Protect for Enterprise Resource Planning

     

Environment

System Requirements:

IBM Storage Protect Components Minimum Version
IBM Storage Protect Server 8.1.19
IBM Storage Protect Client 8.1.2

To execute this automation utility for certificate distribution, you must follow the steps mentioned in Automating the distribution of IBM Storage Protect server certificate to clients.
 

You must download the following cert_distribute package:
