Performing a fresh installation of Foundational Components Version 12.0.3.14

You can install Watson Explorer Foundational Components Version 12.0.3.14 directly without installing Watson Explorer Foundational Components Version 12.0.3 GA. To perform a fresh installation of Foundational Components Version 12.0.3.14, follow the steps as described in Installing and Integrating IBM Watson Explorer Foundational Components for Foundational Components.

Upgrading to Foundational Components Version 12.0.3.14

See Upgrading to Watson Explorer 12.0.x for detailed steps. Same steps are applicable when you are upgrading from Watson Explorer Foundational Components Version 12.0.0.

For other versions, upgrading to Watson Explorer Version 12 is supported only from WEX Foundational Components (FC) v11.0.2 to WEX FC v12.

From other versions, upgrading to WEX FC v11.0.2 is required before upgrading to WEX Version 12.For upgrading from those versions, see Upgrading to Watson Explorer 12.0.x .

Upgrading Watson Explorer Foundational Components AppBuilder and ZooKeeper to V12.0.3.14

Follow the instructions in the document to upgrade Watson Explorer Foundational Components AppBuilder and ZooKeeper from V12.0.3.1 or earlier versions to V12.0.3.14.

Upgrading Watson Explorer Foundational Components AppBuilder to V12.0.3.14

Refer the following information to upgrade Watson Explorer Foundational Components AppBuilder from V12.0.3.7 or earlier versions to V12.0.3.14.

Application Builder V12.0.3.14 loads a new log4j configuration file ./wlp/usr/servers/AppBuilder/apps/AppBuilder/WEB-INF/classes/log4j2.properties. If you have customized log4j.properties, which is used in V12.0.3.7 or earlier versions, you need to migrate your modification to the new configuration file. See Log4j document about migration and configuration.

Install IBM Watson Explorer Annotation Administration Console 12.0.3 on RHEL 8

To install IBM Watson Explorer Annotation Administration Console 11.0.2 on RHEL 8, follow the steps as described in IBM Watson Explorer - How To install on Red Hat Enterprise Linux® 8 to install required libraries. You will need to add `-D\$IGNORE_UID_PASSWORD\$=true` option following the installation command if the user already exists prior to the installation.
