Abstract

SupportPac CS13 provides a selection of sample application programs that use the CICSPlex SM (CPSM) application programming interface (API).

The selection of CPSM application programs include programs to:
  • Shutdown a CICS normally
  • Shutdown a local CMAS, using the CMAS resource table
  • Shutdown one or more CMASs in a plex, using the CMASLIST resource table available in CICSPlex SM V1.3 or later
  • Close a local file
  • Close a list of local files named in a partitioned data set (PDS) member. Possible replacement for automation that uses multiple /F modify commands.
  • Globally reset Monitor Statistics for CICSRGNs
  • Globally reset Monitor Statistics for LOCTRAN
  • Perform a CICS RESETTIME across a whole CICSplex
  • NEWCOPY a program across a CICSplex
  • Stop the MAS component in a CICS region
  • Update the ESACNT of a specified CICSplex (CPLEXDEF)

Note that each of the sample files is REXX source and specifies a VERSION on the CONNECT at either 0120 or 0130 for CICS TS V1.2 or CICS TS V1.3. That is the level of the resource tables. You can edit each sample VERSION and specify the version of CICS you are using. For example, change the 0120 to 0420 for CICS TS V4.2.

NEW IN THIS RELEASE
The following changes have been made in this release:
  • Added a REXX sample that can be used to update the ESACNT of a specified CICSplex (CPLEXDEF)
  • Remove samples EYUXAPI1 through EYUXAPI4 (now in supplied with the product)

Prerequisites

You should be familiar with the administration and operation of CICSPlex SM in the CICS TS for z/OS environment.

The SupportPac requires:
  • CICS Transaction Server for OS/390 V1.2, or later

Installation Instructions

To install the samples:
  1. Click on the download link below and save the to your local machine.
  2. Uncompress the saved file to a temporary directory on your target machine. This will create the necessary installation files.
  3. Follow the instructions in the included documentation to complete installation of this SupportPac.
