  • strmqm with incorrect file permissions and ownership hangs
during queue manager startup

E.g:
In the bin folder of MQ Installation PATH ( /usr/mqm/bin),
strmqm is not owned by mqm user.

All IBM MQ Users who edit the permission of strmqm

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The incorrect ownership/permissions prevented strmqm from
attaching to internal shared MQ resources, causing the process
to hang.

Problem conclusion

  • It is unsupported to modify the permissions of the strmqm
binary.

The strmqm code has been modified so that it correctly aborts
the attempt to start the queue manager if its file permissions
are incorrect. In this scenario the strmqm command reports:

    AMQ7077E: You are not authorized to perform the requested
operation.
