Problem

A problem has been encountered while using the Planning Analytics Engine Database Migration Utility

Diagnosing The Problem

 To troubleshoot a problem with the Planning Analytics Engine Database Migration Utility, the following details must be gathered.  
 
  • Detailed description of the problem:
    • What is not working as expected? (what is the expected result?)
    • Is this something that had worked before? (if yes, what might have changed?)
    • Is the problem limited to a specific database directory? (does a sample directory work?)
    • Are there any error messages?
      • Any model errors should be resolved prior to running migration
  • Environment Details:
    • What is the version of the Database Migration Utility?
      • Found in <migration_tool_dir>\migrate.log
    • What is the Operating System being used to run the migration?
      • Is this the same Operating System where the model runs locally?
    • What tool is being used to run the command? (Git Bash)
  • Debug Logging
    • Update the <migration_tool_dir>\config.log.json file
      • Ensure TM1.Migration level logger is set to debug, and save the file

      • A restart is not required to enable the logging
      • TM1 debug may be useful, however likely too verbose for first capture
    • Recreate the problem being investigated, using as few clicks as possible
    • Revert changes to the <migration_tool_dir>\config.log.json file
      • Set TM1.Migration level logger back to warn and save the file
    • Provide the <migration_tool_dir>\migrate.log file
