APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In Chart of Accounts the Deactivate GL Validations? box is
    checked (client is not using GL Accounts) and the task is made
    required in Quick Reporting.  Then click the Start Timer, the
    Labor is auto populated, enter the required task 10 to the
    labor, when the timer is stopped error 'BMXAA2554E - Timer not
    started.' is displayed.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    
    1. Go to Quick Reporting application and open any WO or Create
    new wo
    Created WO: 1381DF
    Location: BR240
    2. Next, create a new task and change status to INPRG
    In the Task section
    Click New Row
    Task: 10
    Summary: testing the timer error on end time
    Reference WO: T1290
    Location: BR240
    Asset: 11240
    Estimated Duration: 0:05
    Status: INPRG
    Save
    3. Next click on More actions and select Start timer
    Common Actions > Start Timer
    Click the Start Timer
    
    4. This will create a Labor record and then assign the task we
    created
    Labor sub tab
    Created Labor: WILSON
    Task: 10 - entered the task number from above
    Start Date: 9/14/23
    Start Time: 6:28 PM
    Regular Hours: 0:05
    
    5. Click on Stop Timer and we get the error.
    Common Actions > Stop Timer
    
    Results: Once you click the Stop Time you receive the System
    Message:
    BMXAA2554E - Timer not started.
    
    Expected Results: Not to receive the message and able to stop
    the timer.
    
    ***Note: If the Task is not used, the stop timer works correctly

    The timer not started error appeared while trying to stop the
    timer in the quick reporting application. The problem happened
    due to incorrect or missed checking of wonum when any task is
    applied after starting the timer, due to which there was no
    timer record found with status active and it displayed the error
    - timer not started.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR will be contained in a future release.
