Question & Answer
Question
Where does Turbonomic take the value of Capacity in Net Throughput for VMware Target?
Answer
You can refer to the value in VMWare Managed Object Browser (MOB).
1. Open the MOB and select the property path 'config.network.pnic' in the Data Object Type 'PhysicalNic'.
You can select as the following.
content
-> rootFolder
-> childEntity
-> hostFolder
-> childEntity
-> host
-> config
-> network
Then, add '.pnic' to the end of the URL.
2. Sum the values of 'linkSpeed' in the all interfaces. That is the value of Capacity.
The unit is Mbit for the linkSpeed and Gbyte for Capacity. You need to transform the value as '(sum of value) / 8 / 1024'.
