Question & Answer

Question

Why when exporting e-audit tables/objects to another environment in Manage with Migration Manager do we get this error?

Cause

This issue was reported as APAR IJ11042 - (BMXAA8229W ERROR IN DATABASE CONFIGURATION)
This was reported for Maximo 7.6.1.x but also occurs in MAS Manage 8.x.

Answer

This is actually working as designed.
The migration limitations documentation mentions;

Electronic auditing
If you use the Database Configuration application to enable electronic auditing, the settings that control electronic auditing are migrated. If any electronic auditing tables are created, the tables are only useful for the specific environment. Therefore, any auditing tables and the data they contain are not migrated."
You therefore need to disable auditing on the tables/objects you want to migrate (ASSET, CLASSSTRUCTURE. JOBPLAN, LABTRANS, PMSEASONS, WORKORDER)  on the ‘source’ MAS environment..

After you have migrated these tables to the ‘destination’ environment and database successfully, you can then set ‘Audit Enabled? = Yes’ on these tables once again, both on the ‘source’ environment and on the ‘destination’ environment.
