JR65274: CONTENT OPERATOR REPORTS ERRORS IF SC_DEPLOYMENT_PATTERNS DOES NOT EXIST IN CR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• This was working in 21.0.3 where there was just CP4BA operator,
  but broke in 22.0.1 and 22.0.2 when we introduced the Content
  operator.  In the past, if customers want to deploy just
  Navigator, by specifying:
  
  sc_deployment_patterns:
  sc_optional_components: icn
  
  It would work.  But now, it doesn't work where CPE and GraphQL
  will also deployed.  We have a customer who tried to deploy just
  CPE by specifying:
  When we tested the version 5.5.6, we left only the CPE related
  parameters in the CR yaml file, we commented out (with # sign)
  the other components (BAN, CSS, GQL) parameter. In this case the
  deployment finished without any error, only the CPE container
  installed.
  
  In the 5.5.9 or 5.5.10 version we did the same (commented out
  the other components, and left only the CPE parameters), but the
  CR deployment installs the GraphQL container, and try to install
  the Navigator too.
  
  sc_deployment_patterns:
  sc_optional_components: cpe
  and it failed as well (meaning, that CPE, GraphQL and Navigator
  all deployed).
  
  Somewhere in the code, we set "sc_deployment_patterns: content"
  for the Content sub-operator.

Problem conclusion

• Resolved by introducing specific selection of components through
  CR.
