Troubleshooting
Problem
When a model is opened, information related to the unresolved features will be added to the error log.
The error log entry corresponding to a unresolved feature currently has just the details of the feature name, target element having that reference etc.
For example:
The feature 'clientDependency' of 'Account::Manager' has a reference to 'Manager::use(Supplier-useraccount)' which cannot be found.
There is no details about the URI of the unresolved target element. It will be difficult for user to manually identify the URI.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the issue eclipse patch need to be installed on IBM Rational Software Architect Designer Version 9.7.x or IBM Rational Software Architect Designer for WebSphere Version 9.7.x:
Steps for installation of Patch on RSAD/RSAD4WS 9.7x:
1. Exit IBM Rational Software Architect Designer if running.
3. Download eclipse patch PH52566_97x_Patch.zip and extract to a temporary directory.
4. Place the "PH52566_97x_Patch" folder, along with its "features" and "plugins" subfolders contents, inside the <rsad install_dir>/dropins/ folder.
5. If dropins is not existing create the dropins folder in <rsad install_dir>.
6. Launch Rational Software Architect Designer with "-clean" option with root/Admin privileges; this may take a while, please wait product to start.
After successful installation of eclipse patch the error log entry corresponding to a unresolved feature will now have URI of the unresolved target element along with other existing details.
The additional details in the Error log description will looks as follows:
The feature 'clientDependency' of 'Account::Manager' has a reference to 'Manager::use(Supplier-useraccount)' which cannot be found.
