PH55144: DB2 ADMIN TOOL: S522 OR S414 ABEND IN ADBTEP2 AFTER AN I/O ERROR ON SYSPRINT WHEN SYSPRINT IS A DATASET

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Periodically Db2 Admin Tool jobs will hang and time out, or
  abend, when SYSPRINT is a dataset rather than SYSOUT. This is
  due to a conflict in the use of the SYSPRINT file between REXX
  runtime environment and Db2 Admin Tool. This change avoids this
  problem by making sure Db2 Admin Tool closes SYSPRINT before
  calling REXX runtime services.

  always closes SYSPRINT before calling REXX utility IRXSTK.
