APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Additional serviceability was required to aid diagnosis and
provide evidence to third party XA Resource Managers in the
event that the XA Resource Manager violated the XA
    specification.

    ****************************************************************
In complex scenarios, for example involving backend database
failover, it was found that some XA Resource Managers violated
the XA Specification. Additional serviceabiliy function was
found to be useful in providing evidence to the third party
and expediting resolution of the issue in third party products.

Problem conclusion

  • Serviceability was added to improve problem diagnosis and
provide enhanced evidence to third party XA Resource Managers
in the event that they violated the XA Specification by
throwing XAExceptions with errorCode XAER_RMERR in scenarios
where the actual state of the transaction branch in
the Resource Manager and the semantics of that errorCode
    violated the XA Specification.
