* USERS AFFECTED:  All users of IBM HTTP Server                *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When installing interim fixes, but not  *
*                      fix packs, the installation             *
*                      program may report                      *
*                      INSTCONFPARTIALSUCCESS. The             *
*                      postinstaller logs                      *
*                      will have output resembling:            *
*                      postinst: failed to open file ...       *
*                      postinst: (2)No such file or directory  *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
If some shipped files have been removed, such as bin/envvars-std
or conf/*.default the IHS postinstall program will fail trying
to
search them for @@ prefixed variables to substitute.
During fix pack installation, these files will have been
recently
replaced even if the user has deleted them. But interim fixes
only lay down a curated list of changed files.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The postinst program was modified to tolerate missing files.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in IBM HTTP
Server fix packs 8.5.5.25 and 9.0.5.17. For more information, se
