Local fix

Problem summary

  • A defect in OpenJ9 prevents a generated lambda class from
    accessing private members of its host class after the host class
    has been redefined/transformed by an agent.
    The Error will look similar to this:
    java.lang.IllegalAccessError: Class
    com/ibm/example/ProblematicClass$$Lambda$56/0x00000000e03b8450
    illegally accessing "private" member of class
    The stack trace will vary depending on the application code.

Problem conclusion

  • OpenJ9 has been updated to ensure that lambda classes can access
    private members of their host classes even after the host class
    has been redefined/transformed
    .
