Abstract

MaaS360 introduces new supervised policy settings and deprecated some of the existing policy settings for iOS 17 devices.

New supervised restrictions

Allow iPhone Widgets on Mac

When this setting is turned on, MaaS360 allows iPhone widgets on a Mac that has signed in the same Apple ID for iCloud.

Allow Automatic Unlock

When this setting is turned off, disallows automatic unlock through Apple Watch.

Allow Touch ID/Face ID

When this setting is turned off, prevents the user from modifying Touch ID or Face ID.

Allow Web Results in Spotlight Search

When this setting is turned off, prevents internet search results from appearing in Spotlight.

Allow Shared Photo Stream

When this setting is turned off, disables Shared Photo Stream.

Allow Automatic Synchronization While Roaming

When this setting is turned off, disables global background fetch activity when an iOS phone is roaming.

Allow In-App Purchase

When this setting is turned off, prohibits in-app purchasing.

Enable JavaScripts on the Websites

When this setting is turned off, Safari doesn’t execute JavaScript.

Block Pop-ups on Safari

When this setting is turned off, Safari doesn’t allow pop-up windows.

Accept Cookies on Safari

Defines the conditions under which the device accepts cookies.

Maximum Allowed Content Rating for Applications

The maximum content rating for apps that are downloaded from iTunes. Any content that is above the rating cannot be downloaded or accessed by the device.

Maximum Allowed Content Rating for TV Shows

The maximum content rating for television shows that are downloaded from iTunes. Any content that is above the rating cannot be downloaded or accessed by the device.

Maximum Allowed Content Rating for Movies*

The maximum content rating for movies that are downloaded from iTunes. Any content that is above the rating cannot be downloaded or accessed by the device.

New supervised restrictions that apply only to personal Apple IDs on iOS 17+ devices

Allow iCloud Photo Library When this setting is turned off, disables iCloud Photo Library. Any photos not fully downloaded from iCloud Photo Library to the device are removed from local storage.
Allow Documents Sync When this setting is turned off, disables document and key-value syncing to iCloud.
Allow Handoff When this setting is turned off, disables activity continuation.
Allow iCloud Private Relay When this setting is turned off, disables iCloud Private Relay.

Deprecated restrictions

Starting from iOS 17, the following device settings are no longer supported and are considered deprecated. However, these settings will still remain functional on devices running iOS 16.0 and earlier versions.

Enforce iTunes Password Entry

When this setting is set to true, forces the user to enter their iTunes password for each transaction. Supported on iOS 4 - iOS 16.0 devices.

Allow Shared Photo Stream When this setting is set to false, disables Photo Stream. Supported on iOS 4 - iOS 16.0 devices.
Allow Voice Dialing When this setting is set to false, disables voice dialing if the device is locked with a passcode. Supported on iOS 4 - iOS 16.0 devices.
