  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a standby Load Balancer assumes the active forwarding
role, advisors start to monitor the server health. Traffic may
be forwarded to an unavailable server after a takeover occurs
if the advisor has not detected the server is unavailable when
server selection occurs for the connection.

    ****************************************************************
When Load Balancer is configured with high availability, the
active LB monitors the health of the servers and the standby
LB does not. When a takeover occurs, the standby LB becomes
the active LB and starts to forward traffic and monitor the
backend servers health. The current status of the backend
servers will not be accurate until the health has been
evaluated by LB's advisors. If a backend server is offline,
requests may be forwarded to the server during this time.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed such that both active and standby
Load Balancers monitor the health of the backend servers.
Since the health is monitored by the standby LB, requests will
not be forwarded to an offline server when a high
availability failover occurs. Additionally, "dscontrol file
report" can also now be successfully generated on the backup
    load balancer.
