Error description
When you duplicate a Work Order, the Failed Date field on the Failure Reporting tab of the resulting work order is copied from the corresponding original work order. This occurs for both the parent work order and child work order. It makes no sense for that field to be copied. A user could duplicate a WO months or years after it was completed. It is misleading to users to copy the Failure Date from the original WO and/or the child work order. Here are the steps: 01) Go to Work Order Tracking and create a new WO setting:Description: Test Case - Duplication of Failure Data - Parent WO Location: AIR100 Failure Class: PUMPS Problem Code: Leak 02) Click on Plans tab and add a Child WO setting:Description: Test Case - Duplication of Failure Data - Child WO Location: AIR101 03) Click SAVE. 04) Click Go To Work Order Tracking from the Detail Menu for the Record field on the Child WO. 05) Set the Failure Class and Problem Code on the Child WO to PUMPS and STOPPED respectively. 06) Click SAVE. 07) Return to the original WO screen. 08) Change the Status to APPR. 09) Click on the Failure Reporting tab. 10) Notice that the Failed Date was defaulted to the Date/Time when the Problem Code was entered on the WO. 11) Click Select Failure Codes, select SEAL for CAUSE and REPLSEAL for REMEDY, and click OK. 12) Enter something in the Remarks field and something else in the corresponding Long Description. 13) Notice that the Remark Date was populated automatically. 14) Click SAVE. 15) Click back on the Plans tab and select Go To Work Order Tracking for the child WO again. 16) On the child WO, click on the Failure Reporting tab. 17) Select a CAUSE and REMEDY for the Child WO, enter something in the Remarks and its Long Description, and click SAVE. 18) Wait at least 2 minutes. 19) Return to Parent WO screen. 20) Refresh the Parent WO by typing the Work Order in the Find Work Order field and hitting ENTER. 21) Select Action / Duplicate Work Order and click Duplicate Work Order Hierarchy. 22) Click OK and SAVE. 23) Click on the Failure Reporting tab. RESULTS: On BOTH the duplicated Parent WO or Child WO, you can see that the Failure Date was copied from the corresponding original Parent or Child. It makes no sense for that field to be copied. A user could duplicate a WO months or years after it was completed. It is misleading to copy the Failure Date from the original WO EXPECTED RESULTS: The Failure Date should NOT be copied. ** It should be ** set to the SystemDate/Time of the Duplicate Work Order action.
