If you have an issue on the agent side running on Windows, this simple way describes to you how to collect the logs.
Objective
The agent logs are at:
- C:\Program Files\Instana\instana-agent\data\log
- To collect the data, simply zip up this directory and post the zip file to the support case.
- This is an example of how to pick up logs by using the terminal (e.g. if the agent is no longer active).
If the agent is active but you think there is a problem that the Instana Support team needs to check, use the simpler method of collecting agent logs from the UI.
Also, if the Instana Support team is asking for the DEBUG logs, change the mode from INFO to DEBUG and collect the logs.
By clicking the Agent log tab, you can download the logs locally and forward them to the Instana team for more investigation.
